Forum upgraded - keep your eyes open for errors

We're happy to say that AveoForum's forum software has been upgraded! We're looking forward to offering bonus features in the coming weeks (first up will be the members garage).

Before that, please use this thread if you see any problems. We're aware of three right now:

1) If you haven't logged in yet, you need to RESET your password. Your old one won't work.

To reset your password click here: password recovery form

Note that the e-mail address you registered with must be valid. If it's not, or if you're having problems logging in, contact us at admin@aveoforum.com

2) You need to reset your avatar.

3) We see a bug in Internet Explorer browser - the login box isn't where it's supposed to be, and after you logged in, the user menu isn't where it's supposed to be. The forum skin designer will fix this soon, hopefully.

I am working on updating an old thread i have here Will the forum links in the thread still be valid? I dont have time to check at the moment.

Links to the old threads (with ".../phpBB3/..." in the URL) should continue to work.

I've tested a bunch so far that are formatted slightly differently, and so far so good.

I had to select atlantic time to get my clock to match. not daylight saving time compatible?

And Holy log in process, luckily i dont had adhd, or i would have never made it. :P

Hmm ... the time is working for me, and we're in the same time zone. I just selected GMT-5 (Eastern time zone) in the user control panel.

There's also a setting you can enable to detect daylight savings or not. Check here:

i had it set to automatically detect, and changed it to always and changed my timezone, its the right time, well see when it changes back..

Where are read topics versus hot topics? look like i have a bunch of unread threads scattered about.

i'm starting to see the blue dots are for unread. and the yellow pages mean something else..

Thanks for the thanks. Seriously. It's been a pretty hectic couple of days.

There are some elements of vBulltin I'm not crazy about (still working on it). And there's no doubt we all get used to doing things a certain way, so we don't like people messing with our $hit. But the big picture is: it's a much more flexible forum platform - it's good for the future of the Aveo community.

iirc when you "copy and paste" it from phpbb to vbulletin it uses a language, not character recognition. So that was lost because it was not in the same format set of characters.

unless they have the phpbb sitting on their harddrive, its lost. and even if is it on their harddrive, i believe it would be some work to carry them over.

rabbit is right: Cyrillic can (obviously) be displayed in the current forum, but the old Cyrillic posts were lost in the transition.

If you would like some threads/topics restored, just list them and we'll sort it out. (If there are a lot of topics, maybe start a new dedicated thread for the list, so we can keep track of progress.)

No. Those messages aren't important. Many of them is flood. I think they should be removed.

I canèt post from my phone anymore. The reply box is too big for it lol

Idk if it would be considered a bug but once i check the new posts and go back to the main page without using back button it still says i have new posts in those topics. But itll leave if i enter the topic again and get back out. hope that makes sense

I'm sure there's a portable device theme that's phone friendly. Added it to the to-do list!

ive been getting the unread topics after reading them too, thought it was just me. (i was clicking the forum link at the top of the page though)

everytime i post something. i auto maticlly subscribe? then i get emails of the next post. just letting ya kno boss

I have problem with the signing in process when I always put to remember my login but when I come back to the site I do see that I got logout therefore I have to do it all over again.

i guess i need to say, i emptied it.. its still there. And not only did i delete messages i needed, i cant get new ones.

I could have sent you important information and you have not received it? What kind of fourm is this?!

that was after i did a lot of deleting, it started a 136 of 50..

what could you possibly say thats important?

i got it working, well empty. i didnt acknowledge it until i left and came back to the site..(this morning)

but i have 3email notifications saying someone tried to send me a pm, and my mail box was full yesterday. And i cant seem to find, get to those messages. the other format has you hit a "release" button after you empty your folder?

I upped the stored message limit to 250. 50 seems low for a default.

Does it say who they're from? I'm not sure how vB handles the "over quota" situation - I experienced it in phpBB3 though.

What happened to the random picture headers of our cars :-( I was so excited about that

We'll get that working again soon. It just needs to be reprogrammed for the new forum software.
