Need identity (what is this part? See pic)

Can someone tell what the canister with electrical connector going to it is ? It's black, about 2-3 inches in diameter and about 4-5 inches long, mounted vertically against the firewall next to the brake booster and reservoir ? I can't seem to identify it on any googled diagrams.

      Thanks in advance.

      Nope.

But I was hoping by posting the pic that somebody else could.

On an older car, I would have said it's an ignition coil, but that's obviously wrong. Second guess was a canister for evaporative emissions, but it doesn't have enough plumbing to/from it.

      Hopefully someone will chime in.

On my 2009 the EVAP solenoid is mounted there. It has fuel lines and an electrical connector. The fuel lines go back to the canister mounted near the fuel tank.
