'06 Aveo Stuck in Park still after replacing Brake Light Switch and Solenoid -SOLVED!

Got a '06 Aveo Automatic with a stuck shifter in park. I have replaced both the Brake Light Switch and the Transmission Shift Interlock Solenoid too. Still will not shift out of park without sticking a key in the release. All parts are AC Delco.

Is there a fuse for the brake switch or solenoid? It makes no sense that it wouldn't work.

Also no brake lights coming on.

Well found out after all that, that its a fuse labeled STOP in the fuse box in the car that was burnt out. A blue 15 amp fuse.

That is awesome news. I am finding it's only the little things on these wonderful cars that make things go wrong.

On my 2009 I had to use a screwdriver to bypass the shift interlock every time I drove it. I found out that the logic to control the solenoid is in the instrument cluster. While working on the cluster lights I got a replacement cluster from a 2011. The replacement cluster fixed the shift interlock, but not the lights. It also threw an engine code p0315 which is crankshaft position system not learned. I put in my original cluster and the p0315 code is permanent.

I carved a wooden wedge to permanently hold down the interlock bypass temporarily until I find the fault in my instrument cluster, which may be never.

Also I learned that in 2009 Aveos there IS a faulty splicer pack located under the dash in an awkward spot. I got a second hazard light switch and wired it to the illumination circuit and put it in the HVAC module to fix the dash lights. Temporarily.
