Car washes in South Africa
They Suck!!!!!!
A full valet is sposed to be a full clean inside outside engine polish and all that good stuff but no!! 2 carwash companies I used didn't even do halve of that... I simply refused to pay the full price for a half ass job!
Anything happened to you like this before?
Re: Car washes in South Africa
They do all that at a car wash? Over here its only detailing shops that do all that (and I don't quite know about the engine polish), and you'd pay quite a bit to get all that done... about $200-300 and up at a decent detail shop around Seattle. I know Cali and FL should be cheaper cause its always warm and there are many more detail shops. 8). More shops = more competition = lower prices.
Re: Car washes in South Africa
Yes they do... we don't have a specialised Detailing shops over here. not do we have "rollers" to wash the cars... don't know why though ;-)
Re: Car washes in South Africa
Maybe not enough market yet. Or nobody picked up the idea. You should look into it, since there is no competition this could be a perfect time to start a good car washing/detailing business. 8)

Sounds like an idea what is a detailing shop about what is there main "thingy"?
Re: Car washes in South Africa
They do very extensive cleaning that only a few people actually do to their cars because it takes too long (or they just don't want to do it themselves), they do everything from just interior/exterior cleaning to leather/upholstery/paint/headlamp restoration. The price depends on a vehicle size and the services requested. They also do "ionizing" (I think that's what it's called) when they shoot some stuff through the A/C system and let it cycle in the car where it kills all the smells by killing the bacteria that causes it.
Some shops give you a loaner car to drive while they do it, it's usually covered with advertisements for the place that's detailing your car. That's their "free" advertisement".
Re: Car washes in South Africa
that's basically what our normal car washes do.. except for that "ionizing" thing that's something I should get to know more about... then I can sell the tools and knowledge to every single car wash in SA and be rich...
