      Trouble Code B1382

Before I go any further, I want to say the problem has already been resolved. I'm posting this so that I may ask folks with a lot more experience can guide me through what was done.

While my car was still under warranty, I brought it in because my airbag light was on.

After they repaired the issue, called me up, told me to pick it up and told me I was all set.

Looking on the invoice, it says they found code B1382 in the system.

After a little research, I found the code means:

      Air Bags: Frontal:Sensor/Control Module
      -------------------

The invoice later says, "inspection found wire harness under right front seat needs to be replaced."

What I'm asking is, since I do most of my own work on my cars. And if I was to encounter this problem and the warranty was no longer good.

What steps would I need to take to determine where the problem lies?

Let's assume I have the tool to spit back the code for me.

I try to learn as much as I can about fixing my own car since I don't always have the money to have someone else do it.

Well I got told today if I touched any internal engine parts they were not touching my car LOL care full what you fix under warranty....you know having been punched in the face by one of those airbags I would say...let them do it. Somethings are better off left not done by yourself, and hey if it fails you can sue them right.

one of the issues brought up before about the car is the tightness of the airbag harness under the seat. if you move the seat in the full range of adjustment, some of the cars will unplug the airbag harness, or "open" the connection enough for problems down the road.
