Took out stereo, then put it back in, now car not starting :|

Hi all.


I was hoping someone might very kindly help with this, me being close to completely clueless when It comes to cars.

I have a Kalos auto. The stereo wasn't powering on, and a small FM transmitter that I'd just bought was not turning on either from the cigarette lighter.

The car also makes a bit of a rattling sound where the stereo fits in, so I'd jammed a bit if folded card in there to keep it quiet. Earlier, this piece of card became dislodged and slid in behind the stereo.

I slowly pulled out the stereo to remove the price of card from inside, being careful not to pull any wires, bit once I replaced it (the stereo), the normal beeping sound that I hear when I stick the key into the ignition was weak and muffled.

When turned the key to get the engine to start .. nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think it may just be a coincidence you have a bad battery at the same time if you pulled your stereo. Or maybe you just left an interior light on or something. Can you turn your head lights on? If yes, are they at their full power? If you have power windows, do they roll down at their normal speed?

It just doesnt make sense that the key chime is weak just because you pulled the stereo.
