      Timing Belt

      Hi
      Do you have to replace water pump when you replace timing belt?

      It's strongly recommended since you have it all apart anyway. Atleast the gasket. There are other internals to be replace on these motors, I recommend ordering the kit.

      +1, no reason to skip steps, could cost you an engine in the long run

      It's common practice to change the water pump since it is a lot of work to get to it. One step being timing belt removal.

      plus you loosen it and break the seal to install the new timing belt... increases chances of a leak if you dont at least replace the seal.. and then you have it out, why not spend the $30-40 bucks and install a new one?
