only thing I can think of would be to check the map sensor and make sure it's plugged up right.

I would think it has to be something to do with the ignition system or injection system.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far the wall moves after you hit it.

Crap... I forgot when I tried to install a remote start (failed because I couldn't get the tach sense wire to work... god...)

I trimmed some casing back on a few wires in the EMC under the hood, and never covered them with electrical tape, also lost the cover for one side. But would that cause it so randomly? Could the slight loss of power/tugging deal be related, and have something to do with those wires?

What is the best way to test that sort of thing?

fix it and see if the problem persists.

I have seen several people driving a stick hard make a popping sound. I even sometimes made it when I first learned to drive a stick. Just because you're popping doesn't mean you dont know have to drive a stick, could be you're just making a mistake here and there. Or it could be something else completely. But since you're not setting off a CEL it does have more of a lean towards the poor driving arguement.

But you two really need to stop this banter or take it to PM. We dont need all this hostility or else this thread may get closed real soon.

Its more fun to drive a slow car fast, rather than drive a fast car slow!
