Starting problems; gauges jumping around

bought my DAUGHTER a2010 aveo 5 sometimes it startes right up and sometimes it will not turn over at all even though the lights and radeo are working and the gauges all jump around at the same time eventhough it runs great its a 5 speed car please help also the battery is brand new alternator has been checked by a professional shop

The same thing happened to me last year. The car started fine, but the needles of the gauges would be jumping around for about 5-10 seconds after the car started. Then one day the car wouldn't start at all. A simple battery replacement solved the problem. The needles of the gauges are all acting normally again once the battery was replaced. It seems to me your battery is slowly dying.

DannyWatson - any updates?

FYI: my aunt's car also had a crazy dashboard when the battery was no good. Replacement fixed it.
