Unhappy Sluggish acceleration - Very sluggish when A/C is turned on - Chevy Aveo 2005

I recently bought a used 2005 Chevy Aveo. I recently observed that it take a while to pickup the speed. I thought it is because of the small built of the car. Now I am noticing that when turning on the A/C it is very very slow when going from complete stop to accelerate. When I am at red signal it take forever to move forward. I tried turning off the A/C and it is OK. Can anyone explain me what is the problem here? There is a general slowness in acceleration and very sluggish acceleration when turning on A/C.

There is no problem. All cars with A/C experience this to some degree. In cars that have limited acceleration, such as an Aveo, the lack of power when the A/C is on is more noticeable.

Here are your options: Turn the A/C off and be uncomfortable in the heat, or turn the A/C off under acceleration (and back on again, once you are up to speed) , or...trade it in for a Corvette.
