Should I clean my intake manifold?

2005 A/T, replaced the intake hose because it was almost broken in half (for God knows how long) not even sucking air through the filter, and then cleaned the throttle body and noticed how dirty the whole intake system is. It’s like residual, oily water stuff.

Car runs fine, I started taking it apart from the top until I realized I would have to get to the bottom bolts from underneath the car, so I put it all back together and said to hell with it. I had already bought the intake gaskets and everything.

I’m debating whether or not I should take the gaskets back and just get some throttle and intake cleaner or if I should just suck it up and jack the car up. Like I said, it runs fine and sucking air through the filter now should help some.

I probably wouldn't bother. Lots of cars with EGR have horribly gunked up manifolds to the point it causes issues. But it literally has to build up a lot to cause issues.

Would I take off the intake manifold to just clean it? Its not worth it.

If you really want to clean it though, look into using Seafoam Top-end cleaner
