Running lean
My '10 Aveo LT hesitates on acceleration. The check engine light comes and goes, the OBDII scan said o2 sensor (I've replaced both). I did find out that these scanners do not tell all, that if the code for the o2 comes up, it could be anything related to that sensor as well. The car just turned 130k miles (I drive 120 miles round trip to/from work, 95% freeway), and the little beast soldiers on. Being as I know it's running lean, I'm thinking the MAF (mass air flow sensor) has seen better days. It is of the vane type variety, which I learned wear out fast. My question is, if I replace this unit, am I going in the right direction or chasing moonbeams? Some positive suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Problem solved! Turns out I was chasing the wrong moonbeam. Coughed up $180 for an MAF, went to take the old one out, and found that the intake hose was split. (couldn't find a new one, so kinda rigged an aftermarket hose-it works). Car runs like a top now, and I'll get my $180 back tomorrow. Life is good! (for those who need that hose, it's gonna cost. a replacement OEM hose will set you back about $240- this is where creativity and resourcefulness come into play).

Pictures on how your fix would be great. And yes duck tape is a legitimate repair :-)
