Rough idle and rattle from the engine at start.

Hello i am new here and i am looking for advise on issue's with my 2009 aveo 5 with 64k miles. When i let the car sit for a few hours and i go to start it there is this loud rattle like it has no oil and then quickly disappears. The noise has been getting more frequent and i have done regular oil changes over the life of the car. Also when you first start it the car revs up like normal but it wont come down to an idle smoothly it will fall and then hang at a rev and then fall till it hits idle. There are no check engine codes or pending codes. I would like to know if this is something that would be covered under the factory 100k/5year power train warranty seeing my time is running out being a 2009.

Hi Bruce,

Typically under the Powertrain Warranty you will be required to pay a diagnostic fee, which varies by dealership. If the issue is found to be covered by the PW then the diagnostic fee will be waived/refunded. If it is an issue that is not under the PW then the diagnostic fees paid will go towards the cost of the repair.
