Oil leak (oil pump gasket or oil pan?)

So after replacing the oil pum gasket and re sealing the oilpan with rtv i still have a large oil leak that i cannot determine if it is coming from the pump gasket or oil pan. I used a gm gasket for the pump and ultra black rtv for the pan l. The leak is on the passenger side and dripping on to the exahst flex pipe. I do have an extra oil pump gasket and I have obtained an oil pan gasket from the only place in the world that seems to have them. Has anyone used this gasket on an 04 aveo?

Did you use rtv in the channels on the pan with the gasket?

The tsb says not to use rtv with the metal reinforced oil pump gasket. Any opinions?

Are you sure it's not coming from somewhere else, and working it's way down? These cars are notorious for having faulty valve cover gaskets.

The valve cover gasket was done as well. It has zero leaks

I believe the service info specifies a liquid gasket applied to the aactual oilpan gasket.
As well as a tightening sequence along with the torque spec. Haven't seen the tightening sequence, maybe someone can confirm.

Years ago I was working for a non-destructive testing company and I remember they had additives for testing for fluid leaks which generally required a UV light to inspect and I would imagine widely available now.
This may be helpful especially if the area is already quite dirty and contaminated.

ACDELCO oil sending junk...thot my leak was cooler...was last ditch effort ...cooler parts were on back order and $400 ....$15 sending unit...no more oil spots
