Need help restoring the alternator's wiring to factory. Never worked on Aveo.

Hello, my girlfriend has a 2004 Aveo that she purchased used from a used car dealership. A couple nights ago she was driving and the headlights started flickering and the radio was messing up so she pulled off and it wouldn't start again. She called me and described it and I figured it was the alternator, so I had it towed to my house and did some checking and found a strange modification the previous owner seemingly did.

At the batter on the cable coming from the alternator, there was a heavy duty fuse holder with an 80 amp fuse in it. The thing had just completely melted, which was why the alternator wasn't charging the battery.

The latter image is of the replacement I put in just because she had to get to work. I didn't think to take a picture beforehand. The second is the melted one the previous owner did. The replacement one is getting extremely hot as well and I figure it will eventually melt as well, so she's trying to avoid driving as much as possible for now.

I really feel like this thing is a fire hazard and is just going to melt again, so I would like to basically restore the wiring setup to how it was from the factory. I assume the previous owner did this because he had a audio setup or something in the car, but it was not done very well, and anything it might have been for is gone now.

Can anyone get the a walkthrough of how the wiring between the alternator and the battery goes so I can fix it?
