I have an '06 automatic 5 door hatchback with 75k miles. When I'm driving, there is a loud roar coming from the front, sounds like its from the axel or wheels. It's loud enough to drown out my stereo, and gets louder the faster I go. Any ideas?

theres a lion stuck in your front bumper?
could be wheel bearings, but if its that loud its possibly the trans or engine..
I'm voting for lion.
But try "slaloming" the car left and right. If the roar goes up & down in volume as you weight & unweight the suspension on each side while doing this, then stop doing it, because you're making the lion angry.
Or it might confirm it's a bad wheel bearing & tell you which side it's on.
Here's hoping it's the lion, kind of wanted a new pet. But thanks.

yea, it was the axle bearing. But I let it go too long and it seized up on the axle, couldn't get it off. Had to replace whole axle.
