Need to force for close hood

When I close my hood, I should let fall from 2m high for close completely.
Is there any tip for close hood with less force?
or Should I change some parts?

is the spring and latch well lubricated? does it line up properly?

its a light hood, and a heavy spring, it takes more force due to less weight versus a hood on a 77 cadillac where the hood was the size of a pool table (and just as heavy).

Your hood opens up over 6ft? does it stand completely vertical or something?

as rabbit said though, light hood, heavy spring.

I don't think there are any 'hood springs' on an Aveo. The hood has a prop rod to hold it up when open, like most Asian cars. A hood latch spring, yes, but no actual springs on the hood to keep it up - the balance springs on either side of the hood were humongous on Caddies and Chevys of decades ago. (My '88 Chevy still has them).

Lube everything liberally, both the hinges and the latch, and see if there is improvement.

last time I went under the hood of our '09 Silverado, it had Balance Springs to hold up the hood, but concerning the High force needed to close the OP's Hood, it makes me wonder if the OP's Aveo was in an accident that quite possibly knocked either the hood latch or the hood itself out of alignment.

I was referring to the hood latch spring.
