Kalos 2006 1.2 8v, high rpm at cold start at morning

Hello. I have a Kalos hatchback with 1.2 8v engine (B12S1). Every cold start is with high rpm (2700-3000), but only under 10*C. It`s idle high a couple of seconds, and then dies if i not help it with the acceleration a little. No errors find on tester, checked temp senzor, map senzor, vacuum, crank senzor , but no problems i beleave. if car sits 2-3 days, but the weather is over 10*C it starts normal. The car drives good, no other simptoms. Somewhere i read that maybe it needs a software update for Ecu, but there are no Chevy services nearbye to me. Any ideas what to check? Thank You

I am not familiar with the 1.2L engine. However, I would try to clean the idle air control valve. This valve controls idle speed and they can get sticky and not work properly over time.

If could also be the fuel. Are you using the best quality and highest octane rating available?
See my Garage page for details.

Edit, after further thought: This reminds me of the old days of carbys and auto chokes in VWs, try a short sharp kick to the accelerator pedal.

I am using normal 95 petrol. This engine has the MTIA electronic system, no separate idle control valve.

If its electronically controlled and there is no valve to stick, then I would say its normal. All engines are programmed to idle fast when its cold out. This warms them up quickly.
