I really haven't had any water pump or electrical issues... I do have a base model though with none of the fancy stuff.
I don't have any fancy electrical stuff either, base package only. I'm lucky I don't have a totally electronic car, I wouldn't be able to roll down the windows.
This sounds like it might be less complicated than you are making it sound. How many miles do you have? you should really do the water pump with every timing belt. SO if you have 120k miles, then yes you should have replaced it twice.
Th electrical issues, being mostly dash related in some way, sounds like was a single ground or source issue that caused multiple problems. Have you have the fuse block checked or anything?
you should include a little more history than just two water pumps and electrical issues.
There have been a number of folks reporting electrical problems related to the wiring harness splicer. If the problems in yours are still there, have you taken a look a that yet? At what mileages were the 2 water pumps changed? Were they visibly leaking? Perhaps they were done as a part of timing belt change(s)? It's not uncommon to change the WP and pulleys during the belt replacement, even if they show no sign of having problems or wear. For some extra $$, it's good proactive maintenance.
I don't have the mileage in front of me, but the water pumps were changed independently of the timing belt. No they were not leaking they stopped working and the car over heated.
Having a hard time understanding this. Did they show you either or both of the pumps and point out the specific problem? Or was there a detailed description of the problem on the paperwork?Quote:
