HOT! ignition key ?
So car doesn't seem to have any other issues at the moment. It's a 2004, we picked it up in april of 2017 to use as a daily commuter. I've had to fix a few things. It's an Automatic with 150K.
So something I've noticed, after driving, the ignition key will be very hot, sometimes too hot to hold. Now there isn't anything else wrong at the moment, so it's kind of hard to diagnose, but what would cause this? Anybody else had this issue?

It may be the switch contacts behind the key are arcing and creating the heat.
Ignition switches do wear, some prematurely from too much weight (too many keys) on the key ring.
Try the key on its own and see if that helps.

Actually I keep very few keys on my rings. Only the car key, a house key, & a mailbox key; No key chain. The aveo key weighs more then the rest combined. But I'll try removing it, just to see. In the mean time, I guess I'll start researching replacing the ignition switch. Thank You.
