High idle
My dad has a 2008 Chev aveo 1.6ls,just recently when he started it the idle will go up very high and then just drop, then other times when you drive an you stop at robot or stop sign,it wont even idle,it will just stop, not idle at all,can it be the iac,or tps.also want to know the iac is it the top one on the throttle body and the tps the bottom 1.

Sounds like IAC to me. Spray some carb cleaner in the throttle body while it is idling and that'll suck it through the IAC valve.
-
Still doing the same after cleaning, any other suggestion or just get a new IAC.

There is a hole inside the throttle body...spray carb cleaner into the hole to get to the IAC valve. I had the same problem and it worked on mine. It was a major improvement at least. I also disconnected the battery for an hour and reconnected it to reset the computer. I want to remove the IAC valve and give it a proper cleaning or replace it but I don't have a short enough screwdriver to get at it lol. Let us know what it turned out to be as many people have the same issue.
And thanks for the input DOAX,,,i used your advice on my car and it seemed to work ok.
