High beams...no beams

Very recent problems on my 2011. Intermittent high beams (pull & hold stalk to rear (toward driver) works, but continuous high beams (stalk pushed froward (toward dash) will not come on. I haven't gotten an estimate for repairs, but maybe there is a simple/INEXPENSIVE fix. Is this a common problem? Missouri vehicle inspection a long way off so there is time to work the problem. Any input will, of course, be greatly appreciated.
