So the passenger is squeaking, and it needs to be replaced since it dances when you do the hug and jig trick. By the way I have an 05 hatch auto LS 1.6l. Is there any literature on how to replace? I am sort of a stickler for detailed instructions.

What tools do you have available to you?
I have basic, plus motor pull tools. however i don't have a press or bearing puller. If those are required im just bringing her fatass in.Quote:

This tool handles everything related to the bearing, except removing the hub from the knuckle. It's fairly easy to drive the hub out using a suitably fitting socket.
If you can't get your hands on an adapter set or a press, then I recommend not trying to do that part of the job. I've seen videos of guys hammering bearings out and in with pipes or sockets, but I think the chances of that being done successfully (i.e. without messing up the bearing) are low.
You could pull the knuckle/hub, and bring them along with the new bearings to a shop. I'd expect that you should be able to find a shop willing to do this for under $50 each.
Removing the knuckle is not a big job, provided that you have a ball joint separator tool such as this one.
