Hey, my aveo manual says to change the fuel filter in the maintenance schedule, but I have a 2004 and there is no external serviceable filter like on the newer models(trust me I've looked so don't tell me it's next to the tank or on the firewall).

I was wondering if anyone has added an inline fuel filter? Most cars have a fuel strainer in the tank, I assume this "in tank filter" everyone talks about is more substantial than that, but would it be a bad idea to have an inline filter?

Basically I'm wondering if anyone has done it, and if so, did you see a difference in fuel pressure? I don't want to burn out the pump, so if it adds a substantial amount of resistance I wouldn't do it. Also what filter did you go with? I have a fuel filter lying around and could rent a fuel pressure gauge from autozone and check it out myself, but figured I would ask. Also, anyone had any fuel issues stemming from the weird filter set up/missing filter?

Thanks
