      Fluid Specs - 2009

I'm gonna start getting a list of the GM fluid specs for these little things since the little debate on Trans Fluid.

      Straight from the GM catalog.

GM will love ya for it. The stuff they sell usually has a markup of several hundred percent over aftermarket prices. They have a vested interest in proprietary marketing.

      No, thanks.

I hope you are getting a commission for the recommendation.

Umm... I'd like you to prove that theory. From my own personal experience, the prices for gm branded chemicals are very much in line with the aftermarket.
I leased Pontiac Wave from September 2006 to August 2011.

Not from what I've heard in the discussion about automatic transmission fluid (for example). Parts and supplies from dealerships are almost always higher than aftermarket suppliers. As with most things in life, it pays to shop around.

Every time you park the car.

Having a list of recommended fluids does not tie you into buying oem. Even though the part numbers are there. It still says type IV fluid. So now when you go to pepboyz you know what the dealership wants you to get.

Parts and fluids have more mark up in retail prices when they work on your car. Some /a lot of dealers are competitively priced when you buy the fluid in parts. Depends on the parts dept though.
