Flashing hold button problems

I have a 2005 Aveo and my hold light has been coming on while driving randomly. Ill be on the interstate going around 60 mph and the hold starts flashing along with the check engine light. So it won't change gears when it happens so I have to pull over and cut the engine off then its fine. Not sure why this is happening. I did have a new motor put in about 1,000 miles ago. The engine was used but low miles.

Any feedback? I'm a woman so any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Has your check engine light been on before this (recently)?

I recommend taking the car to an autoparts store (napa, autozone, advance autoparts,etc.) and asking them to read your engine codes. Let us know what codes they find.

Its most likely a #0107 code. For me it was a bad "MAP" Sensor at $80. Read also the Answers forum that explains this problem in depth. The blog starts out as "What does it mean when Flash hold light in chevy aveo. Its on page 2 of that blog. Its a very good read.
