Electrical Short
Hello all. I’ve read this forum a lot to get tips on what to dowhen stuff goes south, but i need some more help. I drained the battery while sitting for a long time with a cell charger plugged in. Got a family member to come and jump start the car but i hooked up the cables incorrectly. Put the donor positve onto the dead negative and the donor positive onto the dead engine mount. It will start only with a jump now. When it does run the inatrument panel is dead, the transmission shifts up only to second and has a very hard shift. I’ve limped it home at least. I smelled ozone while driving home that seems to get worse as it drives but dissaptes while idleing. I’ve checked all the fuses and none of them are shot. I pulled some of the relays and saw no scorching. I’ve pull some of the dash out and the instrument panel so far and no bad connections or scorch marks noted so far. Need help please!!!
BTW it’s a 2009 aveo 5 LT with an automatic transmission.

Giving this a bump as i still have not found a solution. I have rigged the negative battery terminal with a qucik release. Disconnecting the battery tempprarily resets something and it works fine. PLEASE HELP!
