DIS Fuse Blows When I Make a Hard Right Turn

I have had my 2006 Sedan Aveo for about two months now and haven't had this problem until the weather had started to get hot. Whenever I make a hard right turn, my car stalls out and won't run passed 10 mph. I turn the car off and have to replace the DIS fuse to start it again because it blows. It seems to do this on hot days of 85+ degrees. I have taken it to a mechanic who has checked for crossing wires, replaced stripped wires, checked the power steering system, and even looked to see if something was shaking under the hood to cause the problem. No luck. Anyone have any answers as to why this is doing this? Thanks in advance.

P.S. Not taking anymore right turns will simply not work as an answer.

does it happen when you turn left?

if it wasnt the wiring, its either going to be distribution, bad ground, bad ecu, or possibly fuel cut out.

or something was missed with a wiring issue.

I can't remember if it's happened on left turns. It happens often though. Could all of those problems cause the fuse to blow?

they could, theoretically, so its worth checking. Its much harder when your paying someone else though.

      i would start with distribution.

Temporarily bypass the fuel cut off and take a short ride to check that. It will either need disconnected or jumpered, I'm not sure wich.

That would be my second check, as it's among the easiest.

Grounds can only be cleaned and if needed re-tightened. This would be a good time to add some extra ground cables to the engine for a little improvement on performance. Or if they need replaced just go bigger. Subwoofer amp cable is a cheap and reliable cable, and is guaranteed to handle the engine compartment.

ECU is the last thing I would think of, mostly because It would not likely only happen in corners if that were it, plus you really don't want it to be something that expensive. I think some shops and parts stores can check it for free though.

Best of luck, Hope you get it fixed.

The problem has been solved! My mechanic found some sort of spike going through the circuit board which was ripping a wire. He grounded down the spike and taped up the wire and my car has been free of the problem since. I appreciate the help you've all given us.

Glad to hear it is fixed. Can you give us any more detail than that?

The spike at the top of the crossmember was poking through the wire harness. I just called and asked and that's what I was told. Sorry for the dim information on the problem. I'm not the smartest when it comes to cars.

Still helps. Now people can look for that spike and take some preventative measures. Thanks.
