Question Delayed gauges and hiccups in acceleration.

      Howdy folks,

I have a 2009 Aveo5 hatchback with just over 37,000 miles on it, everything standard, no aftermarket anything. It has been running well as long as I have had it (until recently), which has been since September of last year. Just earlier this week though, it started having small hiccups in the acceleration when taking off at a slower speed, such as in town. Not enough to be very noticeable, but enough that I wish it would stop since I don't have a bunch of money or time to put into it. However, also starting earlier this week (actually the same day, now that I think about it), the "dinger" would go off for around 30 seconds straight when starting the car, and all the needles on the gauges move at a much slower rate than what they should. For example, the computer limits the idle RPMs to 4000, so if I push the throttle to that point, it will be about 3 seconds before the needle on the tach will start to move, and won't travel the full distance to the 4 mark on the tach. Both the tach and the speedo behave this way. A red light also started flashing left of the clock, flashing about every 30 seconds or so. All this started 2 days ago.
Has anyone had this problem before, and if not, have any ideas? Are the acceleration hiccups and the electrical problems possibly related? This is the newest vehicle I have owned- last one was a 1997 Cavalier, so all the computer systems and controls are new to me.

      Thanks guys!

Take it to the dealer first and let them know what is going on, that is a good first step.

      Kromlech,
I would start with getting the vehicle to the dealer. They will be able to diagnose and repair this issue for you. If you want me to make an appointment for you, just let me know.
