Day time running lights or headlight circuit draining battery
So I have the basic no options 2004 aveo. I put cruise control in it for the wife and now after about 2 days of sitting the battery is dead. I have narrowed it down to the DTRL circuit. I completely disconnected the cruise to help isolate the problem. After I drive it for a while the headlights will stay on, but no other lights. They go off after a few minutes but there is still a drain on the headlight circuit. about a half an amp. When I pull the headlight fuse under the hood the drain drops to .001 amps. Put it back in and it jumps to .5 amps. but the headlights to not come back on. Disconnecting the cruise had no effect. my owners manual does not tell me where the DTRL relay is. I am assuming it is one of the ones bye the drivers door/side of dash. Any ideas?

isnt there a fuse that you can pull out, you can also turn it off by having your ebrake engaged if needed, but there is something weird going on lol

Re: Day time running lights or headlight circuit draining battery
a bad relay would leave the lights on and kill the battery. does this happen while driving though? or while sitting overnight?
