I got the same issue, I check all the fuses both in the car and under the hood and all are ok. I then checked the cruise control swithch with a voltmeter to see if any continuity when the power switch is pressed in and the set button is pressed and all is good. With power on, I'm only getting 1.5volts to the switch and I'm not sure if this supposed to 12v or not.
Does anyone know what circuit the crusie is on and where else could I check? Some say that it's intergreated in with the brake switch, others say it's with the BCM. I then heard, cruise control is part of IPC Instrument panel cluster? Anyone out there have any clue how to troubleshoot this issue and get this thing to work again?

On my 2009 Aveo, the green cruise control indicator on the IPC will only light up when my dash lights are on. I have a switch to power my dash lights because the splice pack on my car failed and I did not know that I had one: there isn't one in the fuse box under the hood. I located the illumination circuit and added a switch to power the illumination circuit through the HVAC module. Since then I learned that I do in fact have a splice pack under the dash on the driver's side. I also learned the illumination circuit is powered by the park lamp circuit, not the cluster/room lamp circuit of the fuse box in the dash.

Anyway, the cruise control function will be disabled if the parking brake lever is up even a little less than one click.
