      Check Engine Light Code P0455

I'm getting a Code P0455, I've changed gas cap and purge valve....After I fill my gas tank I have been erasing the check engine code. I can drive drive for a few days and no code. When the gas gauge shows roughly 3/4 of a tank the check engine light comes on. When I erase the code the check engine light usually comes on after the 3rd engine start. I haven't changed the evap solenoid behind the rear wheel yet. Should I suspect that to be my problem or did anyone else have a similar problem and found out differently......2006 Aveo 5 Hatchback, 155000 km and still getting on average 36 - 37 mpg. All thoughts appreciated.

      Cheers,

I feel like this is caused by a known issue with the 2006 year... Let me do some quick research!

And I'm back! First place to start would be the gas cap itself. Replacing it with a new one seems to have fixed the issue for several members.
Also pop the hood and get under the car as well, to check the hoses for any rot or bad clamps/seals. The fuel pump/filter would also be a good thing to check.

After all that, I'd move on to the solenoid like you mentioned.

      Happy diving!

Thanks for your input, I'll go through your list and see what happens.

It took 2 aftermarket caps to stop the code for me...eventually a Duralast did the job

Thanks Pooh Man, I tried a Slant fuel cap, maybe that one is the wrong kind for our Aveo's.

I actually researched this on other forums, aftermarket caps may take 2-3 attempts. I had the locking slant n it failed ( according to chevy) and the duralast was OK, just save ur receipts
