      Car starts but doesn't accelerate!

Hey guys this is my first time here and really hoping someone can help me. I'll give you a break down of what happened.

      2007 Chevy Aveo LT Sedan.

      1. Recently bought my car about a month ago and decided to put an after market radio in.
      2. Went looking for fuse pull and it was in the fuse box under the hood.
      3. There I noticed an old fuse tap that was put in the ECU fuse spot (along with the fuse).
      4. Took the fuse tap out and returned the fuse back to it's spot.
      5. Went to start car, doesn't start.
      6. Took it to get ECU reprogrammed, car starts now but there is no acceleration or increase in RPM when stepping on the gas.
      7. That's where I'm stuck at.

Thanks for your help everyone! I'll try to answer the questions you have.

There was nothing attatched the fuse tap, how would the tap being there get the car to accelerate?

Does the rpm increase very slowly when you floor it but no go above 2500 or 3000? If so the car is in limp home mode. CEL on? Clear it and you might be fine. Also, why would you need to get the ecu reprogrammed when you pulled the fuse out? And the biggest question you should be asking is why was there a fuse tap there in the first place, and why did you remove it?

i dunno but 99% of the time when you do something/undo something, and that makes it broken. you should put it back :P

Pickles is on the right track with the limp mode. BUT maybe the fuse was loose and the tap tightened it up. You would be amazed at the kind of crap ive found under the hood of cars..
