car jerks when in D or R gear.

Hi, I own a 06 Aveo LS. I was driving up a slope today when I felt that my car is stuttering during the drive up. The kind of feeling when your car has got not enough power. The engine continues to feels shaky. Then I stopped my car. I put it to reverse, it was quite jerky, not smooth. The same happens when I put it to Drive mode. The "check engine" indicator also came on.

Can someone please tell me what happened? I maintain my car pretty well and always send it for servicing.

ALright guys, here's what i did.

Went to the mechanic. Did a diagnostic test. Spark starter Coil was faulty. Changed it. Transmission sensor also faulty. Changed that as well. Then i did some other stuff like valve cleaning, change plugs etc. The problem is gone now and its more powerful than before. Cost about 300USD.

Your story has a good ending. So much better than those stories where the guy spends a lot of money and doesn't get the problem fixed.

Hi, I agree with you. I guess it has to do with going to a reliable workshop. The workshop i went to may cost a little bit more compared to the others around the same area but I have always been going there for major servicing cos I know they are reliable.
