A/C not working; car temp overheating

When I stop driving (i.e. sit at a stop light or in a drive-thru) the compressor turns off and the car starts to overheat. If I turn off the fan when I'm stopped, the temperature doesn't come down; sometimes it increases even faster. As I start driving again, the compressor will come back on and the temperature will start to decrease.

sounds like a rad fan isn't coming on, or a stuck thermostat.

listen for the fan, if it come on change the thermostat (and housing).

      Hi Hsdgarens,

After checking my resources, I did not find anything that could be causing this. If you would like to private message me your vehicle's VIN#, I could further research your vehicle's history for possible known issues.
