      Burnt oil smell.

I posted this in another thread but I believe it belongs here.
Okay, so I have this somewhat strong Burnt oil smell coming from my engine.
1.) Had an oil change about 3 weeks ago, so oil is fine. and I checked it
2.) No leak on ground under my car
3.) no lights are on inside the car
4.) MPG is fine. no difference.
5.) car drives just fine and can only smell the smell inside the car is i sit at a red light for to long.
I have an apt. with chevy on wedensday, I believe i'm still covered on my powertrain warranty. I'm just worried if what is wrong, is covered.
      Any help?

On the older ones like mine, this is typically caused by the valve cover gasket leaking and allowing oil to seep down the block (and also into the plug wells). Doesn't take much of an oil leak to produce the smell. However this would seem less likely to be happening so soon on a 2010, but who knows. IDK if the 2010 is the same as mine, where the VC bolts are accessible by just removing the deco cover. Maybe one of the 2010 guys could post this info. In any case it should be very easy to check if some of these bolts are not tight enough. If you can't do this yourself, then do you know of an independent shop with a good reputation in your area?

Turns out it's the O-ring inside the cap thats cracked. I'm in search for a whole new cap and O-ring. anyone know where I can get one?

The o-ring is probably metric. Try an auto parts store or a hardware store.
