Aveo 2011 won't start, I will appreciate any inputs

Bought a used Chevy and it died right after I bought it. It seems like the previous owner did not put much time in maintenance. I replaced the battery then replaced the starter and the car still won't start. when I turn the key on, it just click and that is it! the engine won't crank.
The Onstar box is causing the 10A fuse to burn and can't use the OBD; however, I disconnect the Onstar and the OBD port is working but for some reason still can't connect to the car to retrieve any data.
I am not very experienced but I can try do what it takes to get the car running.
So, Should I replace the Onstar box? is this can cause the car to not start?
What is the next step to take so I can troubleshoot and get the car running?

Update: I connect a wire from the starter solenoid and the engine started! now I think I need to figure out if the ignition switch is bad!! I will update.

For the Onstar box, if I buy a used one from ebay or a junk yard, is this will fix the issue or I need to reprogram it?

      Thanks in advance for help

Did you check the battery voltage, before and during cranking? Assuming the voltage is good, then you should do diagnostic testing at the starter relay.

Congratulations on a job well done .

Make sure the repair is secure . They make liquid electrical tape . Might use it with the traditional tape over that .

Was the copper of the wire damaged , or just the insulation .

May need to take some wire ties and secure the wire from rubbing against anything .

I have the same problem and had the selleinoide and started taken out, an hour after leaving the garage the problem started. What should I be looking for because the only way I start my car is by hitting the solenoidwirh a metal wire while some is starting the ignition??

Find a wiring diagram of the electrical system & start using it to trouble shoot the starting system . After a through visual examination .

By the way , does the car have a security system ?

Thanks, the wire was damaged actually; I had to expose part of the wire and reconnect. yeah I taped all wires together and I haven't had any issues since.
