2010 Chevy Aveo starting issues

Sometimes when I go to start my car, it won't turn over on the first try. So on the second try, the car will start. Usually, the check engine light will pop on, and when I go to drive, I can't get any acceleration, and can hardly shift into second gear. Then I'll have to shut the car off and turn it back on again, and then it will drive just fine. After a few days of driving the car, the check engine light will go off. I notice the car does this after I haven't driven it for a couple days, and when it gets pretty cold out. Does anyone know what the issue going on is here?

Thats a fairly odd problem. Next time the check engine light is on go have it scanned at a parts store. They do it for free. Then let us know what the code is.

Alternatively, you can get a bluetooth OBDII adapter for pretty cheap, and download an app for your phone that will read the code.

Weird problem! Mine occasionally cranks but just doesn't get going. Went in for six weeks, they changed the "TPS sensor" (I presume they mean the throttle position sensor), and it drove fine for about two weeks but yesterday I had another failed start.

Would like to find out the cause of your issue when you resolve it, maybe there's some common ground with the various starting issues I've seen on this forum and I can do the troubleshooting for my hapless mechanics...

the code is P1682

Here is another member that had the same problem. Looks like the dealer replaced the ignition relay.
