      2010 Aveo 4Dr...trunk wont open!

      Hey guys!

First time posting here. I did a search but could not find anything pertaining to my issue
. Has anyone dealt with this?

When I pull the trunk release the trunk does not open. I used the release on the inside a couple times and now it doesn't work either... Any ideas?

      Thanks!

is there a 'POP' when you actuate the Interior Release? and is it the Electric Release or the Manual cable?

well, my guess is to inspect the Trunk Latch end of the Release Cable (by opening the trunk via the key or the Emergency Release inside the trunk and removing the Dress Up Panel) and seeing if the end of the cable is stretched, broken, or has come loose.

I will try that if I can get it open. As stated in the OP, the Emergency Latch is not working either. Maybe its the actuator..

the latch is a "simple" hook that is activated by a rod. Unfortunately the rod is held in by a plastic clip. I would check two things. 1. if the latch s frozen (pb blaster or wd40) or 2. If the rod is free from the arm and not moving activating the latch.

getting in there is not fun, but it can be done.

Along with what rabbit said, at the dealership we find it useful sometimes to spray and play. Spray the latch. Pull the emergency release tight. And use the palm of your hand to make decent impacts on the plastic. Being that it could be stuck? A little brute force and spray should do it.

      Hi DBarron,
Sorry to hear you're having this issue. Unfortunately, I am unable to diagnose what could be causing your trunk to malfunction. I would recommend taking it into your Chevy dealership, if you don't get it a fix on the forum. Please private message me if you would like for me to schedule an appointment to have this taken care. I would need your first and last name, the last 8-digits of your VIN, current mileage, and your preferred dealership.
