2008 aveo 5
I was driving down the street and my 2008 Aveo lost power. Its missing while it idles. If I turn it off it starts right up. I was doing about 10 mph going down the freeway. A friend said it could be the Throttle Position sensor. I can not find that sensor at all in any auto parts web site, do you have to get the whole throttle body? Its acting like the fuel filter is plugged but was told its in the gas tank and never needs replacing.

Any recent work done on this Aveo? Do you know anyone who has an advanced scanner which can read the data stream? If not, pull the plugs one-by-one to see how well they're firing and how they look. TPS or TB is only one of many possibilities. Diagnose instead of hanging on parts.

There has been no work done on it to my knowledge. I got it used about 2 years ago. About a year ago the check engien light came on and I went to Autozone and they hooked it up and they said then that's what it was. They told me to play with the plugs and most time that will fix it. Seem to do the trick till know. I went out and took the Breather off and messed with the Throttle and started it up, and it runs fine now with all the power its always had. So I got some carburator cleaner and I am going to spray in it.
