2005 Aveo Hatch Auto --- Clock shuts of and resets sporadically

So, this is problem 2 of 2 with this new purchase (a fix and resale car, was just inspected -- Check engine light stays on too - in other post).But I noticed driving it home from the sale, the clock was at 1 o-clock, 20 minutes later it reset.The headlight sign was also on beside the clock, though my lights were off.I turned my headlights on, and the warning light went off -- But so did my clock, completely.Toggled with the lights and fog lights, and the clock came back on dim and 1 o-clock again.This behaviour continues.Any thoughts?

Also--- is the Headlight sign supposed to stay on in the clock display area "until" you turn them on ?

Yes , this part is normal. Warning is that your lights are not on.
