09 Aveo5 Gauges flutter and intermittent

Key turned to "on" and all gauges flutter and car will not start until done fluttering. After fluttering stops, turn key to start and car starts and runs normally except all gauges are intermittent. When turned off, again, stops normally except radio will continue to play briefly (30 seconds) after door is opened. Radio would normally shut off as door is opened.

Also has a parasitic battery draw when turned off.

I've not found much online with this problem specifically.

Any help would be appreciated.

When was the battery last replaced? Mine did the gauge flutter when it was aging and low on charge...

Battery is a year old. This happens even when the battery is fully charged (14+ volts) and still on the charger.

I had an issue like this back in the day with my old Chevy Mikado truck.. in my case it was the fuse box was semi corroded, I first tried cleaning the connections and it helped but I finally replaced the entire thing and that fixed my issues.

What seems to have solved the problem is a little bizarro! Through some monkeying around on my part, I blew the interior dome light fuse. I may have left the switch turned on with a LED bulb in the light fixture. I replaced to 10 amp fuse and problems were resolved for the most part. The Tach doesn't function, but the other 3 gauges work. We're good, it runs normally otherwise.

If the issue persists it might be worth while to check the grounding, which can be intermittent if a cable is corroded or not firmly bolted on the block/frame. A couple of 4-6ga cables will get the job done if the issue is intermittent and you'd like a low investment trial+error fix. I had a similar issue a while back, but it was affecting the air and fuel flow, so causing stalls while running etc.
