06 Aveo has a tun of diagnostic codes. Please help
Hello new friends! My name is Kim, and I am hoping you would have some idea of what may be killing my aveo so that I can save money by buying a part and not going to the dealer (Ack!!**)
**No Warranty exists on car anymore
The patient: 2006 Chevrolet Aveo Hatchback
So, long story short, guy and me went on a road trip for the last 10 days. Took the car about 2500 miles round trip. Car missed a bit at very high RPM when going fast through Mtns, but no real problems till the end of the trip…
On the way back south, car stopped accelerating on the freeway. We actually lost all ability to feed gas to the engine. I later found that this was caused by a “safety throttle shutoff” (My opinion is that it is not safe to lose throttle on the freeway, but that’s just me)
This got progressively more frequent, and we fixed the problem by restarting the car without stopping (5 speed)
Made it back to Chas and now it’s not doing that anymore, however it won’t go above 2000 RPM. Fuel efficiency is through the floor. A hummer probably has better mileage.
Now, as soon as I got back, I went to autozone and had them pull the diagnostic codes off the car….
This is what we have:

So, staring at these, I realized that during the trip, I would feel condensation from the AC dripping on my feet. Not a lot, maybe a drip every few hours, more when I turned.
My theory is that the condensation got into some throttle sensor and fried it? Does this sound right?
Thank you, help is always appreciated. I really don’t want to throw down cash for something that may be simply diagnosed and fixed.
Re: 06 Aveo has a tun of diagnostic codes. Please help
might just need a new sensor anyways, i don't think it was damaged by the A/C though
seems like a growing problem with aveos, but still few and far between

Thanks for the quick response! I will check back in the morning, but that makes sense. Hopefully that is a cheap part to obtain :D
Re: 06 Aveo has a tun of diagnostic codes. Please help
should be, there are several threads on here with very related problems, might help to check some of them out if you can not figure it out
the sensor will have to be ordered through the dealer, but it should be an easy switch
Re: 06 Aveo has a tun of diagnostic codes. Please help
Sounds like the throttle actuator. A few people have had problems with this item. I think its an ~$80 part. The other possibility is its the gas pedal position sensor, although I haven't heard of these going bad.
Re: 06 Aveo has a tun of diagnostic codes. Please help
if you have sufficient fuel pressure, then do the throttle body actuator.
this problem could be either the throttle body actuator, fuel pedal, or fuel pump. most often the throttle body from forums responses.
the condensation is a decent theory, but the entire evaporator assembly is in the passenger side, was it dripping on you foot while driving?

Ive had water drip on the passenger side too? What is that? N is it bad?
Re: 06 Aveo has a tun of diagnostic codes. Please help
you probably need to clean the drain plug on the ac.
get the codes sorted?
