      INCREASING MPG

I know alot of people want to go fast, I like speed, but i know that there has to be a way to increase our gas mileage. Any new ideas about how to do it? There is a vehicle that gets roughly 75 mpg (1000km/3L) it is a 3 cylinder in-line diesel engine with a clutch less system. So I summarize that a 4 cylinder gasoline engine should be able to get at least 40 mph regularly. So how do we do it. Just a question to all of our engine buffs out there.

I found that to be true after i installed The ScanGauge2 after a day of using it i relised i used alot less gass if you ease off the gass when starting from a stop. I also found that using your brakes down a hill instead of shifting into a lower gear saved like 10-20 mpg

o and also since i have an auto i also save some by using the hold feature, to make positions 1,2,D4 be manual shifting of 1,2,3 thus i am able to control the shifting.

brick under your gas pedal works well too...

but yeah keep it under 3000rpm and get yourself a good set of plugs and wires and you can get over 40mpg, my record is 51mpg but i bet i can get up to 55mpg if i try harder

A lot also has to do with engine management and tuning. For example, anyone (Brainless with the scangauge) know if the injectors are shut off if you're just coasting on a manual tranny, or does it still dump fuel?? Stuff like that.
