How to get better fuel economy in a 2012 Chev Aveo 1.6 ls 5dr

Hi from South Africa,

I drive a 2012 Chev Aveo 1.6 ls 5dr, currently the car is bone stock, i get 13.7km/l based on an average of about 5-6 tanks of fuel ive tracked over the last 7 months, i dont drive that much as i work remotely but i may be going back to the office in the near future so im looking for ways to increase my economy. I would love to get it to 16+km/l. I already use eco driving habits, coasting down hills and to stops and timing traffic lights, 2500-2800rpm shifting, i use the torque app with an obd sensor to monitor real time fuel economy.

Id like to know what mods to the actual car i can do to increase fuel economy, would a cone filter and less restrictive exhaust make any difference?

Or should i not waste my time trying and trade it on a smaller more fuel efficient car?

Reprogramming the ECU could probably reduce the power consumption, but I don't think it's cost effective.

If you want a cheap, efficient car, I would recommend the Audi A2, which are dirt cheap, and you can get more than 25 km/l.

I have been looking around, and I have seen the A2 is not a popular car in South Africa, and only found this one.

Audi A2 1.4 TDI engine is the same used by the VW Lupo and Polo, so it should be quite easy to found parts if needed.
