Aveo MPG / mileage: official fuel economy ratings 2004-2011 (U.S. EPA)
The Aveo's fuel efficiency has improved respectably since it launched as a 2004 model:
- In 2004 it was the least efficient car in its segment in the North American market based on the EPA "combined" rating.[/*:m:275ksiqc]
- For model year 2010 the car is mid-pack. On top of that, Aveo's power output has also increased slightly.[/*:m:275ksiqc]
- GM has stated that its goal for the next generation Aveo is "best in class" fuel economy (though they didn't specify whether they were talking "market class" or "EPA class").[/*:m:275ksiqc]

yes i'm getting better economy. my auto 04 Aveo Hatchback got around 35 mpg the past week, i was so happy :D

I have never gotten 26 mpg even in the coldest months here in MN on 30 below days of going into work I got 27 mpg for my tank avg. Best so far 39.1mpg all us. Not satisfied yet though, want to break 40 and keep going.

I have been consistantly around 32 on good days, I have peaked at 37 going to Pennsalvanya (sp) and as crappy as 30. Now I am getting 34 on my last few trips. Now I am working to add a few miles by changing up suspension and tires.

My 04 sedan which does 90% highway driving has always gotten 30mpg. I've always been happy with that considering my other vehicle is a Suburban.

Getting a solid 35mpg avg with mostly city driving in my 04 hb auto. I honestly think I get worse mileage when driving on the highway.

so when i got my ticket for doing 146 in a 55 i averaged one tank between washington pa and danville pa thats 336 miles / 9.5 gallons = 35 mpg

I've been noticing this too. I just bought my 2010 Aveo a few weeks ago and have been tracking my MPG. What I've found out reletively quickly can best be summerized yesterday. I took my Daughter to Port Huron for Nutcracker rehersal. There are two way to get up there from my house, one is along the water, and the other is taking I-94 for most of the trip. The water route is a little farther 42 mile compared to the high way which was 36 miles, and of course it took my an over 10 mins longer the water way. But the MPG was a huge differents. The Water way avg 39 MPH I got 45.6 MPG. On the High Way I Avg 48 MPH and only got 35.1 MPG.

I also got just over 45mpg on one tank...but staying below 40mph is just not practical most of the time.

it spend 20 liter for 80 km (4 km/liter = 2.5 mile / 0.264 gallon = 9.5 mpg .....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

where is the problem ...........

The posabilities are nearly endless, but I woudl start by changing plugs and wires as they are the most common culprits. Get NGK V Grove copper plugs, they run about $2 USD here in the states. Is the check engine light on? If so pulling the codes would give us much better insight into the problem.

I just bought me a 2006 Aveo ls and checked mileage and got 30.4 Over all i am happy!

2008 Aveo 5 door, 51K miles, manual transmission, summer time 10 miles across town @30 MPH~34-35.
Interstate going 65 MPH ~39 MPG.

Winter time when it is -20f the in town mileage drops to 25MPG. I don't idle/warm up the engine for more than 60 seconds.
The MPG improves if I plug in the engine heater.
