Proud owner of a 2006 silver hatch
Name is Alec and i'm from a small town called Emlenton about 2 hours north of Pittsburgh, PA. Had my Aveo for almost a year now. Started looking for something small and good on gas when I couldn't stand paying 4 bucks a gallon in a jeep that got 12 mpg anymore. Found my baby used with 42k on the odo for $4000, so I had to jump on it. It is the absolute base model, no power anything, no AC, and a 5 speed. Love the thing more than any vehicle I have owned in the past. I definitely consider it one of the best purchases I have ever made.
Finally trying to become a little more active around here since I am beginning to tinker. I have always been an audio guy, so my system came first. Have it pretty close to complete and now I am ready to start with some more serious performance stuff. Have a CAI installed now, and I also just debadged it yesterday. I am hoping to do a short shifter, coilovers, 16" rims, tint all the way around, full 2" stainless duals, and maybe even a disc brake conversion on the back as well as a dual battery setup and/or an alternator upgrade to feed my power-hungry system. I'm sure I will find more, but I am planning to keep my Aveo 'til the wheels fall off. People love to make fun of the 6'2" 280 pound guy who drives the tiny car, but I think they look pretty darned good and you can't beat 36mpg commuting an hour or more for school on a regular basis!
