Oregon Aveo Owner
I have a Maroonish 06 Aveo Special Value hatchback that I use as a commuter. I bought it with 16,000 on it a couple of years ago and now have 65,000+ on the odometer. I thought this would be a good site to pick up info on squeezing a little more power out of it. No mods as of yet but I plan on picking up some wheels today, 14" American Racing. I will post a pic soon, otherwise it's a stocker that we all have seen before.

Re: Oregon Aveo Owner
Welcome to the site. Did you guys get any of the good weather we had up here in Seattle area for the last few weeks? :D
You're right around timing belt change mileage... recommended is 60K, I hope you had it done since it seems to sometimes kill our engines. If not - highly recommended to either do it yourself (there's a DIY thread about that here) or take it somewhere.
Looking forward to the pictures with the new wheels.

Welcome to the site. I agree with Serega about the timing belt.
Got any pics of your car? :)

Re: Oregon Aveo Owner
Yeah, I took care of the timing belt and drive belt as well because it was cracked and showing signs of wear. The mornings here have been overcast and cool then it burns off by noon and 75!

Re: Oregon Aveo Owner
Here is my 06 Special Value, The Red Rocket, with the new wheels I had installed today, my fist mod. I saw a clip of UFC fighter Brock Lezner hop into a tiny red Aveo sedan he called The Red Rocket, ahhh it fit.

Re: Oregon Aveo Owner
Those wheels look nice on there. Did you get a good deal on those? And are they any lighter than your stock steelies?

Re: Oregon Aveo Owner
I got the wheels for 50 bones each at Schwab, slightly used. They feel a bit heavier, not as smooth a ride. I am hoping the mileage stays around the same. Funny thing, the emissions light came on this morning and according to the manual if you change tire size this could be a cause. You think the wheels could have spurned this on? I needed to buy a new steelie (pot hole damage) and when I went hunting the sticker price even on a junk yard dog was gnarly high, therefore the American Racings at a price lower than dealer price for one steelie! The Brock Lezner clip a buddie who is into UFC and V8 Chevies showed me about a year ago, I could try to find it.

Re: Oregon Aveo Owner
I know that my ASA 14" racing wheel are almost 1/2 the weight of my old steelies.
