A new forum member - 2007 Aveo Sedan owner with the eternal squeaky windshield.

Am hoping to get some answers about my cars quirks...which are few (thankfully).
Bought my car new and have no complaints about it - except the dang windshield wipers squeaking -- no matter how many times I've changed the windshield wipers and whatever fancy brand name my brothers/cousins recommend. I'm on a quest to figure out the problem. Anyone here have the same issue?

First, clean the glass with some 000 Stainless Steel Wool, dry.
Then, drain the wind-shield washer fluid, rinse the tank and washer lines then refill with just clean water.
The problem may be residual detergent or a build up of calcium from the water.

However, some may say, "its the windshield"!

Thank you for your suggestions. I have cleaned the glass - but I'll take stainless steel 000 and do that tonight.
Our water, here in Oregon, is 'soft' - very little minerals in it. Still, I'll sure give it a shot.
Yesterday I ordered a new style of windshield wipers. Soft Flat Wiper Blade- through Amazon. I'd talked with a couple of mechanics around my area (friends recommended) and two of them swore the wipers were made in heaven and corrected their issues with squeaking/juttering windshield wipers...well, heck, might as well try! But - I'll also do the super cleaning you have suggested. Thanks again.
