      New 2009 G3 owner

Hello all! I am a new member from St. Louis. I bought a 2009 G3 last year and came across this forum last night. I love my car (metallic black) and got a deal on it during the cash for clunkers scheme. I paid $6000 for it brand new after I traded in my Ford Ranger (which didn't work).

I'm not really looking do many mods, but I would like to somehow increase the air intake... The stock setup is way too restrictive. I'd like to add a short air ram but have so far been unable to find one. Can anyone recommend one for me?

Thanks guys, I look forward to getting to know you all!
      John

You'll want a cold air intake for the best performance. Check out my build thread in photos section I did a how to for 09 owners to get an intake.

      Welcome

Welcome to the site. +1 on the cold air intake. The stock piping is restrictive, but when you replace it with short ram air intake, it takes hot air from engine bay, so the increase in performance is minimal, if any. As restrictive as the stock set up is, it still takes cooler air from the fender well area.

I must have a case of Newbieitis, but I cannot find your thread on building a CAI. Also, does it void the warranty?

nope, there was a sticky somewhere about a law that prevents your wannerty from being voided from a mod like this, now if you hook up a 200 shot of nos and blow your engine to pieces then it will not be covered :P

+10000000000 for a CAI, SRI is a waste, you can end up losing power from heat soak, the CAI even sounds better lol
